چکیده

The literature contains several reports evaluating the abilities of deep neural networks in text transfer learning. To our knowledge, however, there have been few efforts to fully realize the potential of deep neural networks in cross-domain product review sentiment classification. In this paper, we propose a two-layer convolutional neural network (CNN) for cross-domain product review sentiment classification (LM-CNN-LB). Transfer learning research into product review sentiment classification based on deep neural networks has been limited by the lack of a large-scale corpus; we sought to remedy this problem using a large-scale auxiliary cross-domain dataset collected from Amazon product reviews. Our proposed framework exhibits the dramatic transferability of deep neural networks for cross-domain product review sentiment classification and achieves state-of-the-art performance. The framework also outperforms complex engineered features used with a non-deep neural network method. The experiments demonstrate that introducing large-scale data from similar domains is an effective way to resolve the lack of training data. The LM-CNN-LB trained on the multi-source related domain dataset outperformed the one trained on a single similar domain.

Potential and Limitations of Cross-Domain Sentiment Classification

In this paper we investigate the crossdomain performance of sentiment analysis systems. For this purpose we train a convolutional neural network (CNN) on data from different domains and evaluate its performance on other domains. Furthermore, we evaluate the usefulness of combining a large amount of different smaller annotated corpora to a large corpus. Our results show that more sophisticated a...

Leveraging Auxiliary Tasks for Document-Level Cross-Domain Sentiment Classification

In this paper, we study domain adaptation with a state-of-the-art hierarchical neural network for document-level sentiment classification. We first design a new auxiliary task based on sentiment scores of domain-independent words. We then propose two neural network architectures to respectively induce document embeddings and sentence embeddings that work well for different domains. When these d...

Learning Document Image Features With SqueezeNet Convolutional Neural Network

The classification of various document images is considered an important step towards building a modern digital library or office automation system. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) classifiers trained with backpropagation are considered to be the current state of the art model for this task. However, there are two major drawbacks for these classifiers: the huge computational power demand for...

YouTube Movie Reviews: In, Cross, and Open-domain Sentiment Analysis in an Audiovisual Context

In this contribution we focus on the task of automatically analyzing a speaker’s sentiment in on-line videos containing movie reviews. In addition to textual information, we consider adding audio features as typically used in speech-based emotion recognition as well as video features encoding valuable valence information conveyed by the speaker. We combine this multi-modal experimental setup wi...
